About the Authors

Jen Winters grew up in north San Diego County where she still resides with her hubby of almost 10 years, Stephen. She devoted herself to 8 years in the classroom as a high school mathematics teacher before being fortunate enough to have the opportunity to "retire" after the birth of her second son so that she could focus full time on being an at-home mama. Jen and Stephen went through about four long years of infertility tests and treatments, but are grateful to now have two munchkins. The boys are both under four, and only 21 months apart - which definitely keeps her on her toes! The vision of the Practical Love workshops and blog emerged after she awoke in the middle of the night, in February of 2016, to three young men breaking into their home. The subsequent aftermath, coupled with the experience of infertility and several other stressful life events, yielded this passion and project. In her "spare time" Jen loves to find creative outlets like painting and paper crafting; as well as hosting mamas-only coloring nights where she and her girlfriends can laugh and finish their sentences while making eye contact the whole time.
